Budweiser: Messi 644
One of the tentpoles of the 2020 campaign was rooted around Lionel Messi inevitably breaking the record for most goals scored by a player for a single club—a record long held by Pelé. With the uncertainty of if and when the season would resume, the campaign’s future too, become unclear. As if there wasn’t already enough uncertainty, in early September news broke that Messi was considering leaving Barcelona which put the whole campaign in jeopardy.
Thankfully, Messi decided to stay with Barcelona, and on December 22, 2020 scored goal number 644. In addition to the launch of our Creed film, numbered bottles were sent to each of the corresponding 159 goalkeepers who conceded to Messi’s 644 goals.
